I dreamed that I was a cop in a bad situation (see details). What does it mean?
I dreamed that I was an idealistic young police officer who found out too late that other officers in his department had fallen into corruption and virtual enslavement to a local gang of drug dealers. The criminals had addicted some of the cops to heroin or crack cocaine (I’m not sure which) and they were trying to recruit me to join them, but I didn’t want to because I knew it was wrong.
In the dream, I didn’t know at first that my partner and two other officers who we were traveling with, were under criminal influence. We all went somewhere, and the criminals had us four cops doing hard labor for several hours (so it seemed), and it turned out that our “pay” was to be given a chance to puff on a bong that had some kind of narcotic in it.
At that point, I refused to join my fellow officers, and they got nasty. I had to run from them, and both they and the criminals started shooting at me. I planned to report them to our boss if I could get away, but that’s when I woke up.
There were some other strange things in the dream. Since I was the “new guy” who had not yet been suborned to illegal acts, one of the women in the crime gang handed me her baby and told me to take care of it for her. Before I could make my escape from them, I had to put the baby inside the squad car, even though I knew that taking the time to do this increased the risk to me.
Also, the drug gang members and one of the other officers were Black. The other two officers were White. The Black officer seemed to be on familiar terms with the woman who had told me to take care of her baby.

The first thing that popped into my head was that there may be a personal relationship problem where blind trust in the other person is at risk. Trust issues have a way of embeding themselves into all aspects of your life. Try to idenify this and set better boundries. This will allow a much better comfort zone while the problem works out.
