What is a crack lawyer?

patent p asked:

It’s mentioned in the first sentence of this article: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,941427,00.html?iid=chix-sphere

Searching “crack lawyer” on Google gives me results about cocaine and computer hacking/cracking. Since Thurgood Marshall wasn’t a drug lawyer and the article dates back to 1965, neither of those are right.

It’s been bugging me. Maybe someone out there smarter than me knows what it actually refers to?

Why do the law makers make such a big deal about people who smoke crack cocaine?

Meeko asked:

I know it has some real bad side effects, but so do other things. I think it should be outlawed, but is it really necessary to make it so illigal, that people go to prison for years just for being in possession of it? I think that if you commit a crime while under the influence of it, then you should go to prison, other than that, it should just be a ticket or a misdemeanor.

The costs of legalizing drugs?

Danny R asked:

I read this article about what would be the costs of legalizing all drugs.

http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Col…

While it does have some good points, and it would be stupid to legalize ALL drugs, they should of really focused on the cost of legalizing weed.

If we just legalized weed most of the costs would go down and we would be left with more profit.

For example they mention that the cost of medical treatment for drug abuse is 145 billion. But we all know most people in hospitals and rehab are people addicted to coke, alcohol, and ciggarettes. I doubt if that even 5% are there because of weed.

So I guess my point is this article is mostly B.S. because they lump marijuana as if it were crack cocaine.

So would legalizing marijuana and not all the other dangerous drugs help the economy?

P.S.

I don’t want to hear redudant comments against marijuana because from what I see all the conservatists who never even tried weed always bring up these points that are just stupid and false. Give me real reasons so……..

Please don’t say that weed is addictive because it’s not, maybe mentally but not physically and you must have a pretty weak mind if you get addicted.

Please don’t say marijuana kills because alcohol and ciggarettes kill way more.

Please don’t say that nothing good comes from marijuana because nothing good comes from drinking alcohol.

Please don’t say it kills your brain cells because it doesn’t. It only kills your brain cells if it’s laced with other drugs or if you hold it in your lungs for too long and that’s because your not getting oxygen to your brain not because of the weed. Plus if it were legalized there would be strict guidelines for companies to insure that marijuana is pure or safe to smoke instead of just risking buying some roach spray laced weed from the street.

I probably missed a few others but you know what I’m talking about.

Sorry this was so long.
